NSF CHECK PROCESSING

The National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) passed a rule that allows NSF checks to be recovered electronically. This new form of processing virtually revolutionizes NSF check recovery for Merchants, Government Agencies, Utilities, and any other business that receives paper checks. Electronic Check Re-presentment (RCK) is a new process for recovering NSF checks by converting the check into an electronic transaction and debiting the customer's account for the amount of the check and the processing fee. With our program, you will never have to spend your time or money recovering NSF checks again! Complete turn-key check recovery system.   THE PROCESS . . . Merchant signs bank release form notifying their bank to mail all returned checks to our processing center. A sign is posted at the point of sale to notify the customers that their bank accounts will be debited for the amount of the NSF check, as well as a processing fee. The processing fee is set by State Law. All returned checks are mailed to one or more of our processing centers. Once there the checks are converted to an electronic transaction and transmitted that day to the ACH Network for next day debiting of the customer's bank account. NSF checks may be re-presented two times electronically. Customer's bank account is monitored for funds availability if the check is rejected on the first re-presentment, then processed immediately when funds become available. Checks not recovered electronically (account closed etc.) are sent to a law firm specializing in secondary collections of bad checks or returned to the merchant for processing. This is the merchant's choice. The processing charge is 15% of the face amount of the check. Detailed reports will be issued to the merchant notifying them of NSF checks received by the processor plus another report when the checks have cleared the bank and have been credited to the merchant's account.
